MIDDLEFIELD: 

Easter Egg Hunt, Saturday Apr 20th 11am-12 at Town Hall, by Recreation Committee.

Annual Town Meeting, 1st Saturday in May, 5/4 1:30pm, voters discuss & set town budget.

Veterans’ Graves tending, Sunday 10am-12 on Memorial Day Weekend, to re-flag and plant flowers. By Middlefield Community Service Group (MCSG), meet at Town Hall, car-pool to all cemeteries. Open to all attendees and helpers.

Annual Block Party/ Live Band / Picnic, 3rd Sunday July, 7/21, 1-5pm, 16 Bell Rd. By MCSG.

@Blossom-CenterMiddlefield, Community Center hosted events, 16 Bell Rd Middlefield.

Pizza-making party for kids/ all ages, 11am on School Vacation Thursdays: Feb 21, Apr 18, June 20, Aug 22, Dec 26. Followed by Pizza-eating lunch at 12:30, all ages.

Animal Presentation by Nature Matters.org, 1pm Feb 21, after pizza making and eating. Band & Picnic July 21, 1-5pm (see above).

Twice Weekly Community Meals. Tuesday Dinners 5:30pm. Thursday Lunches 12:30pm. (By donation, not potluck. Menu listings elsewhere. Open to newcomers.)

Congregated Households Trick or Treat – during town Trick-or-Treat hours for Halloween.

Support the grand tradition of country fairs by attending a fundraising meal! Middlefield Fair is the 2nd weekend in August every year. The Fair also hosts several fundraising meals in the Spring, which make a great excuse for a country drive, & connect with community.

Sunday 2/10/19 Pancake Breakfast served 8-11am. Fundraiser for Fair $8, Town Hall. 

Saturday 3/16/19 Corned Beef Dinner served 5-7pm. Fair Fundraiser $12, Blossom Center.

Sunday 4/14/19 Pancake Breakfast served 8-11am. Fundraiser for Fair $8, Town Hall.

Sunday 5/12/19 Pancake Breakfast served 8-11am. Fundraiser for Fair $8, Town Hall.

Aug 9, 10,11, 2019 will be the Middlefield Fair in its 164th year, at the Fairgrounds.    

Fun activities in nearby towns:

Sacred Circle Dance 1st Fridays each month (typically). 6-8pm, led by Juniper Talbot, at West Cummington Parish House, 27 West Main St. Donation $5-10. Beginners welcome. In 2019: Jan 4th, Feb 1st, Mar 1st, Apr 5th.

Celtic Cross-Quarter Holidays, Sunday 10am, led by Sarah Stockwell-Arthen, at Cummington Village Church, 32 Main St. (This is the main church service on these 4 Sundays.) In 2019: Imbolc/Brigid–Feb 3rd. Beltane–May 5th. Lugh’s Feast–Aug 4th. Samhain–Nov 3rd.

Family Snow Day, Saturday Feb 9th, 1-3pm, Holzman Hill, Ingell Rd. Bring your winter toys.

Maple Fest, Saturday Mar 9th, by Chester Hill Association with Pancake Breakfast at Chester Hill Congregational Church (on Skyline Trail), Pioneer Valley Fiddlers concert, wagon rides up Skyline to Jameson’s High Meadow Farm to see and sample Maple syrup making, plus raffles and crafts.
